there's some good stuff here - grimes, fleet foxes, beck, angel olsen, the men, my morning jacket, kanye, spoon, real estate, joanna newsom... 

if i'm being honest, though, the beginning of every year looks like it's going to be massive. by december of next year, i'll be surprised if even a quarter of this list sticks to the ribs. still, it's fun to scroll through and imagine what the next year will sound like.

this band's debut still gets a lot of spins on the turntable around the brown bear cave. rec'd if you like harmonies, appalachia.

am was absent from stereogum, spin, and pitchfork's "best album of 2013" lists. and i don't understand why. especially when they knock out b-sides better than most band's a-sides.
