the streets : trust me (video)
watch it here. definitely worth hearing. this was one of the free tracks mike skinner tweeted away last year, although this is a cleaned up and slightly altered version. likely (and hopefully) to appear on the streets' upcoming final lp.
on a personal note, this is probably one of my favorite streets songs. in the same vein as some of his earlier jams (think "weak become heroes" or "has it come to this?").

le fits (revisited)
le fits is a band i found when i first learned about blogs. they seemed, to me at least, to be a buzzdiamond in the blogrough. but they never really took off, to my disappointment. i bring all this up because the band has relocated to philadelphia (from the bay area) and is working on album number there. also, they have a couple of their finer tunes available for free. get into it.

kings of leon : come around sundown (album stream)

it's odd. doesn't seem like it will appease fans of pre-only by the night kings. doesn't seem like it will have great appeal to the obtn crowd, either. not to say that a band has to (or even should) make music to appease or appeal certain people. but a band like this sort of seems like they would want to. all in all, though, i kind of like this album. more than i thought i would. definitely more than their last effort (although it's a little looser compositionally, and with weaker hooks). give it a listen and leave your thoughts in the comments.
