susanne sundor : white foxes (stream)
this song is haunting in a weird way. a little dancey, but with a few unpredictable chord and key changes. it's hard to wrap your head around. but enchanting, nonetheless.
lana del rey : ride (stream)
my opinion has changed very little about lana del rey since "video games" first landed on the scene. back then, i thought she wrote one of the best songs of the year, and i figured she had to have a few more great ones left in her. then there was the onslaught of buzz and press and backlash regarding former secret musical aliases, fake lips, poor performances, etc. she got bashed pretty good. but throughout all that, i still thought she wrote a great song and probably had more left in her. i just don't think you can write a song "video games" by accident. there has to be some level of talent there. and i had a feeling she would be able to tap that well again. feel like she has with this one.
ke$ha : die young (stream)
the current queen of pop song-craft is back with a typically ke$ha-y and typically awesome new single. don't act like you don't love it.

titus andronicus : in a big city (stream)
do you like irish drinking songs? if so, this is a jam for you.
the hobbit (trailer)
this is a new hobbit trailer, and it looks AWESOME. and below that is a video of a couple of bonus trailer scenes, whatever that means. both demonstrate what looks like an awesome balance between the fun and lighthearted tone of the Hobbit book and the slightly darker aspects of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
alt-j : something good (video)
alt-j (who's band name actually appears as "∆", which is the symbol you get when press alt + j on a keyboard) is a new british band that seems to be on the rise. on first listen, their album seems like a bit of a mixed bag, but this is a track you should definitely hear. it sounds a bit like an electronified devendra banhart.

alunageorge : your drums, your love (video)
okay so this song is really really great. and this video is probably one of the best of the year. so if you haven't heard the song yet, now's the time.

martin eden : versions (mp3)
this is a great new track by the man behind eluvium. sounds like it could have been the credit music for some late 80s sci-fi film.
