wavves

so s'gum had a premature evaluation up for wavves today. prior to reading it, i had pretty much written off wavves. the outfit seemed to embody all the negative aspects of over-hyping, blog-buzz, and lo-fi. but what i've heard from his third full-length, king of the beach (out this august), has forced me to reconsider. check out some of the new songs over on hype machine. especially the title track.
