New Antony & the Johnsons Album Drops January 20, 2009

Antony's gorgeous, mesmerizing, and incomparable vocals have haunted me ever since I first heard the soul crushing "Hope There's Someone" off of his instant classic I Am A Bird Now. Just got word that the follow-up to that marvelous album, entitled The Crying Light, is due out in the states on January 20th. Where the former album focused on love, loss, life, and death with an attention to how those themes play out internally, the new album seems to pay more attention to those themes in an external context, fearing the losses we seem destined to encounter (i.e. our totally fucked environment).
