emily white, an intern at npr, wrote a very short piece about not paying for music.

david lowery, who most people my age might know from the band cracker or camper van beethoven, wrote a fairly long but reasonably thoughtful response.

both are very worth the read if you are an album stealer, an album purchaser, a spotify user, or somewhere in the middle.

This is a good somewhere in the middle article in response to the 2 you posted.

that was a way good article. and i sort of feel like that's where i fall.

and like the author, i totally remember trying to record songs off the radio, sitting in my bedroom for hours by my boombox waiting for goo goo dolls' "naked" to come on.

I feel like this is where I fall as well. Q101's Top 9 at 9 was where I did the most of my radio taping. It was such an amazing feeling once you finally got a good version of the song you wanted!
