as you may or may not know, one of my favorite bands of all times (the walkmen) recently indicated that they were more or less done making music together, at least under the walkmen moniker. a very sad day for us all, indeed. but on the plus side, walkmen frontman hamilton leithuaser has a solo album coming out this spring, featuring contributions from members of the walkmen, dirty projectors, vampire weekend, fleet foxes and others, which is awesome. "alexandra" is the first song from it, and it is a hell of song. very likely to end up as one of my favorite of the year. watch the video below.
