Of Montreal + MGMT + Awesome Movie Soundtrack and Producer Guy = Awesome

Spin reprots that Of Montreal's lead freak Kevin Barnes has joined up with dreamy MGMT co-frontman Andrew Van Wyngarden to write some no doubt freaky "soulful prog" music. And, according to Rolling Stone, Barnes is now trying to enlist super-awesome producer/musician Jon Brion, who has worked on albums with Fiona Apple, Kanye West, Spoon, Aimee Mann, Rufus Wainwright, Elliott Smith, Keane, and Dido as well as done excellent soundtracks for tons of movies including Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I Heart Huckabees, Synecdoche, New York, and, perhaps more surprisingly, Step Brothers. Pretty excited to see where this one goes.
