synecdoche, new york
just finished the movie synecdoche, new york, written, produced and directed by charlie kaufman (who also lent a hand to being john malkovich, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, and adaptation). i enjoyed the movie, although i'm not sure how much, as it was terribly depressing. might have to sit with it for a bit. but the final scene was beautiful and sad and moving, no doubt due in large part to jon brion the song backing it.
